Nuclear Equipment Operator - Comanche Peak Plant

Job Description
The Nuclear Equipment Operator is responsible for operating station equipment and systems in accordance with Administrative, Procedural, and Regulatory requirements.
Key Roles & Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent will:
+ Inspect assigned equipment, complete documentation associated with these inspections, and adjust equipment as necessary for proper equipment and system operation.
+ Monitor trends in equipment performance and inform control room of any unexpected indications.
+ Identify and initiate actions for material condition issues.
+ Perform the initial actions required in response to an off-normal condition, and perform follow up actions as directed
+ Identify and correct any abnormal conditions, hazards to personnel or equipment, or challenges to continuous service, if possible, and report any findings to the Control Room.
+ As a member of the site Fire Brigade, perform fire fighting, rescue and chemical spill response activities.
+ Perform surveillances and special test activities
+ Satisfactorily participate in a continuing training program structured to maintain and enhance job proficiency skills and prepare for NRC license examination.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Minimum background and knowledge requirements:
+ High School Diploma, or GED equivalent required.
+ Good computer skills
+ Good written and verbal skills
+ Strong teaming skills
Preferred background and knowledge requirements:
+ Associate?s Degree in Math, Science, or Engineering
+ Bachelor?s Degree in Math, Science, or Engineering
+ Previous Nuclear experience (Navy or Commercial)
+ Previous Fossil experience
Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions
+ Must be able to climb stairs, work above and below ground, and lift loads up to fifty pounds
+ Must be able to wear a respirator
+ Must be able to be a Radiation Worker
Applicant will be required to successfully complete the following to be considered for the position:
+ Plant Operations System Selection (POSS) test
+ Fire Brigade physical
+ Requisites to obtain unescorted access to the power plant, which include: psychological examination, drug screen and security background check.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
