A high level of professionalism, customer courtesy; and, ability to effectively communicate and work with other staff and doctor's offices is required.
Attention to detail and ability to think outside the box is a must.
This position requires adherence to HIPAA laws and reports directly to the Health Information Management Director.
This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Answering phones and customer support for the department.
Scanning paper records to electronic patient records.
Receiving, organizing and maintaining medical record requests.
Working closely with the hospital billing department.
Accessing software programs to manage, submit and obtain requested medical records.
Cross-Training and assist as needed.
II.
Physical Requirements:
Work on-site, weekdays.
Sitting 80%, walking/standing 20%.
Some light lifting - files, boxes.
Must be able to work at a computer station daily.
Must meet pre-employment requirements.
III.
Education/Licensure/Training:
High School Graduate/GED Diploma required.
1 year of office experience required.
Proficiency with computers required.
Medical Records background and familiarity with an electronic health record software system preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
