Responsibilities:
The Registration Clerk is responsible for answering the telephone, registering patients and colleting co-pay and deductible portions of patient's insurance.
Ensures proper financial arrangements are made, and supervisor is notified for all self pay patients.
Verifies and pre-certs insurance and obtains correct demographic and financial information to input into the computer system.
This position may require patient care by performing non-nursing tasks to clients of all age groups.
These functions are carried out according to hospital policy, and the Glen Rose Medical Center mission statement.
The Registration Clerk reports to the Business Office Supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
Good general health and stress coping ability.
Sits and walks intermittently throughout the working day.
Work is performed indoors.
Educational/Licensure/Training:
Must be a high school graduate and obtain six months of healthcare registration experience.
Needs to be knowledgeable with basic computer and multi-line telephone technology.
Requires good written and verbal skills.
CPR Certified.
